ABOUT

Dror Globerman

I’m a keynote speaker, educator and journalist exploring artificial intelligence, innovation and their impact on people. Through talks and workshops in Israel and internationally, I help leaders and teams connect technological change to the decisions they face: what to learn, how to work and where human judgement and creativity matter most. I combine stories from the field with live demonstrations, adapting each session to the audience and the challenges they bring.

What I do today

A central part of my work is turning technological knowledge into skills people can use. I co-founded JumpStart AI, an education platform offering practical courses in applying AI to writing, research, video creation and building applications. I also teach AI courses for Israel’s National Digital Agency on Campus IL, the national online learning platform, alongside my work in academic programmes. My teaching emphasises hands-on experimentation, checking the results and finding useful ways to bring these tools into everyday work.

I continue to work in journalism and broadcasting. With Danny Peled, I co-host While You Were Working, a podcast and video series for Keshet 12, one of Israel’s main television channels. We examine developments in technology and the business forces behind them. I also host The Future Now, an innovation programme on Israel’s GLZ radio, featuring researchers, entrepreneurs and people working to change the world around them. In both programmes, I connect the latest invention or announcement to its consequences for listeners’ lives. Both are in Hebrew.

Every week, I write Skip Intro, my newsletter in Hebrew and English. It connects developments in AI and innovation with stories about economics, culture, psychology, education and politics. I explore the possibilities new tools open up and the costs they can carry, combining ideas with personal experiments and practical recommendations. This site brings together articles and interviews from that work, making it easier to revisit a subject, watch a conversation or keep reading after the weekly email has slipped down the inbox.

The path here

My career began in print journalism. From 1999 to 2009, I worked at Maariv, a national Israeli newspaper, as a technology reporter and editor, later editing its Friday business supplement. I went on to report and present for Channel 2 News, and hosted television programmes including People and NEXT for Keshet. In 2012, I founded NEXTER, the technology site within the Israeli news and entertainment portal mako, and served as its editor-in-chief. Those roles gave me a close view of technology’s evolution from a specialist subject into a force reshaping everyday life.

Another major project is The Battle for the Brain, the documentary series I created for Keshet 12, which began in 2019. Its follow-up films explored the machinery of disinformation, the polarising effects of social media and the algorithms shaping romantic relationships. Through interviews with researchers and people in the technology industry, I examined the meeting point between digital systems, human attention and emotion. The questions raised by the films continue to inform my talks and writing. The series is available to watch in Hebrew.
